Abstract
Cilj ovog rada je ispitati stavove roditelja o statusu odgajateljskog zanimanja u hrvatskom društvu. U radu su prikazani teorijski pristupi stratifikaciji te najrelevantniji sociološki pogledi na profesije. Istraživanje je provedeno na uzorku od 120 roditelja čija su djeca polaznici Dječjeg vrtića Rijeka. U svrhu istraživanja sastavljen je online anketni upitnik koji je bio dostupan na Facebook stranici „Vrtić kod kuće“. U radu su postavljene četiri hipoteze, a to su „Roditelji odgajateljsku profesiju definiraju kao srednje rangiranu profesiju u društvu.“, „Roditeljska percepcija statusa odgajateljske profesije povezana je s roditeljskom percepcijom o tome posjeduju li odgajatelji specijalizirana znanja.“, „Rodni konzervativizam je povezan s roditeljskom percepcijom statusa odgajateljske profesije.“ i „Roditelji koji smatraju da je za obavljanje poslova odgajatelja potrebna visoka stručna sprema, smatrat će da poželjni status odgajateljske profesije treba biti viši od postojećeg statusa.“. Prve dvije te četvrta hipoteza su potvrđene, dok je treća hipoteza odbačena. Rezultati su pokazali kako roditelji smatraju da je odgajateljsko zanimanje iznimno važno i kompleksno, no društveno podcijenjeno.
Abstract (english)
This paper aims to examine parent’s attitudes on the social status of preschool teachers in Croatian society. This paper presents theoretical approaches to social stratification and the most relevant social aspects of professions. The research was conducted on a sample of 119 parents whose children attend Kindergarten Rijeka. For research purposes, an online survey was made and it was available on the Facebook page „Vrtić kod kuće”. Four hypotheses are set in this paper, and those are „Parents rank preschool teacher profession in the middle in society“, “Parents perception of preschool teacher’s social status is connected to parents perception of whether preschool teachers have specialized knowledge“, „Gender conservatism is connected to the parents' perception of preschool teacher social status“ and „Parents who think that is necessary for preschool teachers to have higher education, will think that their desirable social status must be higher than current status“. The first two, and the fourth hypotheses are confirmed, but the third one is rejected. Results showed that parents think the preschool profession is very important and complex, but socially underrated.
