In Musical culture classes, the question is often raised as to how to present music to the student so that he can understand it as fully and easily as possible, but we come to the problem of the teacher's competence to enable the same. It is noticeable that with the development of digital technology, an increasing number of teachers are resorting to the use of digital resources that replace their personal contribution to lessons by playing instruments. During their education, teachers should acquire competences for carrying out the activities of singing, playing instruments, listening to music, musical creativity and musical games, but it often happens that the activity of playing instruments is avoided in primary education. With this graduate thesis, I will explore how competent primary education teachers are for conducting musical activities, how they acquired their competences, and whether they implement activity of playing instruments in their classes. Given that we know the benefits of playing instruments for a child's overall development, I believe that every teacher should strive to improve their musical competence with the aim of having a positive impact on the child.
