The aim of this study was to examine the opinion of the teachers on the parenting styles of the contemporary family and to determine whether there are differences between the teachers in Rijeka and the teachers in Križevci in their opinions on the parenting styles. Also, differences between respondents of different work experiences were investigated. The statistically significant difference was shown only by teachers with 1-10 years of work experience. They, considering statistical analysis, estimate less successful parental education styles than other groups of teachers. Given the area in which teachers are currently working, it is noted that the greatest difference is in the respondents responses in claims of authoritative educational style. All the claims that belong to the authoritative educational style were assessed by the teachers from the city of Rijeka rather than by teachers from the city of Križevci and its surroundings. Other educational styles are equally evaluated by teachers, no matter what area they work in. T-test showed that there is no statistically significant difference between the respondents working in the area of the town of Križevci and the surrounding area and the respondents working in the area of Rijeka. The third research task was to determine if there are difficulties in recognizing and evaluating the family's educational styles and the possible causes for these difficulties. Of the 61 respondents, 13 (21 %) had difficulties in recognizing and evaluating educational styles. Other subjects (N=48/79 %) did not have any difficulties.
