Organised free time activities are usually divided into two separate groups of activities: extracurricular activities and free time activities. In the context of elementary school education, especially education of students of younger school age, that kind of activities present the key factor of development and encouraging of creativity, originality, autonomy and productivity of every student in that period of life. On spring 2016., in the city of Usti nad Labem in Czech Republic, a research has been made on the sample of 129 students of two local elementary schools. The aim of this research was to determine the number, diversity and satisfaction with organised free time activities which students attend and to examine the interests of students in the context of four groups of organized free time activities interests. The research had shown that a significant number of students attend organised free time activities, but the number of students which attend free time activities is significantly bigger than the number of students which attend extracurricular activities. The interests of students are heterogeneous; they appear to be at the highest level in the technical-informatical group of interests, while they tend to be at the lowest level in the language-communicational-artistic group of interests. Sex differences amongst respondents did not show a significant difference among the tested variables. Results also showed a significant relation between school success and extracurricular activities, unlike the unsignificant relation of school success with free time activities.
